I first learned of using a diode bridge for waveform generation in the 1970s, learning from the Tektronix FG-503 circuit schematic -- there will always be a soft spot in my heart for that TM-500 module. I always forget which way to point the diodes, and the relative polarities of operation, for bipolar current switching with a diode bridge. So, posting a quick analysis of polarity and switching directions, so I can remember this stuff:
