Development of Type X1 DC Amplifier

After a lot of development, a variety of design tricks coalesced to enable one standard DC amplifier that can do many applications. This design is not yet fully characterized, and may see some further refinement. But it works, and has the following approximate performance or operational charactersitics:

  • ±15V supplies, not characterized for service at any other power supply voltages.
  • Aol > 100 dB.
  • Vos trimmable to 0.0 mV, default untrimmed Vos ≈︎ 9 mV. Ib ≈︎ 100 nA.
  • ±14.5V output compliance into 600Ω || 39 pF.
  • Clean trapezoidal response to fast pulse input at gain of -1, no abberations, SR = 2.0 V/μS.
  • GBW ≈︎ 11 MHz.
